Design & Construction
Revlon One Step and Calista Style Dryer are both designed to be a hair brush and dryer in one making it easier and quicker for users to achieve a great blowout at home.

Revlon One Step has a non-detachable oval barrel with a ceramic base that is boosted with ionic technology. The bigger side of the barrel makes straightening hair possible while the edged sides are for creating waves and folds for more volume. The bristles are a mix of nylon pin and boar and can grip the hair shafts so they touch the ceramic barrel for extra shine. It also has a 6-foot swiveling cord and a cool tip at the opposite edge.
Meanwhile, the Calista Style Dryer has 2 interchangeable brush attachments. The smaller one is a styler brush that is used for drying, detangling hair strands, and just keeping the hair tame. The oval brush is the one used for a blowout and is more comparable to Revlon’s oval brush. Then again, Calista’s oval brush attachment is available in short, medium, or long, so you can choose which brush would be best according to your hair length.
Heat and Speed Settings
Revlon and Calista both operate on 3 adjustable heat/speed settings.

Revlon One Step and Calista Style Dryer both have 3 heat/speed settings that can be easily adjusted by twisting the knob located at the end of the handle. Revlon One Step operates on a 1100W motor while Calista Style Dryer has a 1200W motor. As such, drying is faster on the Calista.
With such powerful motors, is hair damage inevitable with these two? Yes, hair damage is possible. But since Calista Style Dryer’s barrel is coated in tourmaline, there is lesser risk of damaging the hair shafts. To be on the safer side though, do not use any of these hair blow dryer brushes on dripping wet hair to avoid further damage.
Styling Performance
Revlon One Step and Calista Style Dryer can be used on almost any type of hair.

As previously mentioned, the Calista Style Dryer uses 1200W of power, which is 100W higher than Revlon One Step’s. Thus, it is easier to dry the hair with the Calista. Also, since Revlon’s brush barrel is non-detachable, reaching the roots can be a challenge for those with shorter hair. Calista Style Dryer is also lighter and the handle is longer so you can place your hand farther away from the barrel’s vents.
Verdict
With the 2 hair blow dryer brushes having almost identical features, your budget will be your final consideration.
Amazon productCalista Style Dryer’s price tag is double that of the Revlon One Step styler’s. Then again, remember that the package already includes an extra brush attachment so you’re actually getting 2 hair stylers. Also, the brush barrels are coated in tourmaline, a mineral that gives off negative ions and reduces hair damage. So if you have extra bucks to spare, go and get the Calista Style Dryer.
Meanwhile, choose the Revlon One Step if you’re on a tight budget or if you’re only going to use the hair blow dryer brush occasionally. Revlon is a trusted name when it comes to hair so this is definitely going to be a worthy investment.
