Attachments and Accessories

The major difference between the Dyson V11 Outsize and the Outsize Pro is their packaged attachments and accessories

Attachments Dyson V11
Both V11 Outsize models include an array of attachments such as a click-in battery (left) and mini motorized tool (center)

The Dyson V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro both have the following accessories and attachments that make them versatile cordless vacuums:

  • High Torque Drive Head
  • Mini-Motorized Tool
  • Stubborn Dirt Brush
  • Combination Tool
  • Crevice Tool
  • Wand Storage Clip
  • Docking Station
  • Charger

The Dyson V11 Outsize Pro comes with an additional Fluffy cleaner head and the following tools:

  • Mattress Tool
  • Extension Hose
  • Flexi Crevice Tool

All the above-mentioned tools are missing in the Dyson V11 Outsize. However, don’t write off the Outsize just yet. While it doesn’t have as many tools (and one less cleaner head) as the Outsize Pro, it does include an extra click-in battery and charger. This means when it comes to runtime, the V11 Outsize edges out the V11 Outsize Pro.

Design

Apart from their color schemes, the Dyson V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro are practically the same

Design and Build
The V11 Outsize (left) is available in copper while the Outsize Pro (center) comes in gold

Apart from the obvious difference between the two, their colors, the Dyson V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro are almost the same in terms of design and parts. As its name implies, the latest Dyson V11 Outsize models feature a large 1.89-liter (half a gallon) dustbin capacity and cleaning path width. Their dustbins can hold more than double the capacity of other V11 cordless vacuums, which means significantly fewer trips to the garbage bin to empty the dust collector. This makes the V11 Outsize models the ideal stick vacuum for homes with pets and large floor area.  Both models further boast a 25% wider High Torque cleaning head (see top right photo) than the mid-tier and entry-level V11 models. As the Dyson V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro have a wider cleaning path width, they can cover more areas faster and allow for more efficient cleaning. The V11 Outsize sold in the US only comes with one cleaning head while the V11 Outsize Pro offers an additional Fluffy cleaner head (see bottom right photo) that works best on hardwood floors.

Cleaning Power

Both the V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro are among the most powerful cordless vacuums in the market

The Dyson V11 Outsize and Outside Pro (in photo) can effortlessly pull in debris and finer particles on various floor types

When Dyson released the V10 into the market, they quickly rose to among the most powerful cordless vacuums, and it’s no surprise that the flagship V11 Outsize and Outsize achieved the same feat. The V11 motor can spin up to 125,000 revolutions per minute and releases up to 79,000 grams of force that allows the V11 cordless vacuums to pull in dirt effortlessly. They can suck in larger debris and finer particles on carpets without issues. Even their brushes work well for resisting hair tangles.

The Dyson V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro’s three cleaning modes–Eco, Auto, and Boost–are designed to adjust the suction power as needed. On Auto mode, these V11 Outsize models will change its suction automatically when it detects a change in surface. The Boost mode is best for carpeted floors or heavy traffic areas while the Eco mode is the most battery-efficient setting.

As you may have gleaned from the comparison chart above, the Dyson V11 Outsize comes with an extra battery and charger. This gives the Outsize 60 minutes more runtime than the V11 Outsize Pro that only has one click-in battery included. With an extra click-in battery, you won’t have to recharge the battery and wait for hours to resume cleaning.

Maneuverability

The Dyson V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro are still easy to use despite their larger dustbins

Their “point-and-shoot” bin-emptying system (left) and wall-mounted docking station (right) make cleaning easier and virtually mess-free

Dyson’s line of reliable, innovative, and thoughtfully-designed cordless vacuums reflects how the British brand puts a lot of thought into making its customers’ lives easier. The V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro are no exception. Emptying the dust collection bin has never been easier and as straightforward as it is on the V11 Outsize stick vacuums. Their “point-and-shoot” design ensures the dust particles and allergens won’t come back into the air during the bin-emptying process. They also come with a docking station that can easily be mounted on the wall for fuss-free storage.  The extra-powerful V11 motor means a heavier Outsize and Outsize Pro. Something that has become a trend for Dyson is its newer models tend to become slightly heavier than their predecessors. For instance, the V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro, which weigh 7.85 lbs, are roughly half a pound heavier than the other V11 models. Having said that, their ease of use has not been compromised as they still glide smoothly on floors. Where you may feel slight discomfort, however, is when using them for extended periods while the dustbin is full to the brim.

Verdict

Get the Dyson V11 Outsize if you’re after a longer runtime, but if you want more attachment options, the Outsize Pro is the better choice for you

As both the Dyson V11 Outsize and Outsize Pro deliver the same powerful suction and cleaning technologies, your decision will mostly depend on whether you prefer a longer runtime or more attachments with your purchase. The Outsize’s extra battery makes it the better choice if your home has a larger floor size that requires more than one vacuuming cycle. Meanwhile, the Outsize Pro’s Fluffy cleaner head and three additional attachments make it the more attractive choice for those who want more options for tools.
