Unlike traditional vacuum cleaners, stick vacuums are lighter and smaller. Because of their size, they’re easier to move around the home for targeted cleaning. They usually come with an array of attachments as well. In this category, the Tineco A11 Hero and Dyson V11 Animal are two names that typically crop up. Both are cordless vacuums designed for deep cleaning.
The V11 Animal is arguably more popular, with Dyson pioneering cyclonic technology in vacuum cleaners. Tineco’s A11 Hero, on the other hand, is a budget alternative with a couple of features in common with Dyson. So which cordless vacuum cleaner should you get? Is Tineco better than Dyson? Read our Tineco A11 vs Dyson 11 comparison below to find out.

The Tineco A11 Pro and Dyson V11 Animal are both well-designed cordless vacuum cleaners.
Like most stick vacuum cleaners, the Tineco A11 Hero and Dyson V11 Animal are assembled out of the box. Both come with interchangeable tools that can “redesign” how the vacuums look. The basic tube installation, however, features three key components — the main body, tube, and cleaning brush. On these appliances, the main body is where you’ll find the motor, dust bin, controls, and handle. It’s essentially the platform of the Tineco A11 Hero and Dyson V11 Animal.
A key difference between the two models is the orientation of the main body. On the Dyson V11 Animal, the main body is parallel to the tube. This gives it a sleeker and narrower form overall, which helps in storage. With the Tineco A11 Hero, the main body follows a vertical orientation.
In terms of aesthetics, the core follows a similar design and construction. Both main bodies are crafted from see-through plastic and feature ergonomic handles and digital displays. The V11 Animal’s interface, however, feels more intuitive than Tineco’s.
Nonetheless, Tineco’s A11 Hero is the lighter vacuum of the two. Its standard brush attachment also features LED headlights for tackling dark corners. The same cleaning head offers a wider cleaning path than the V11 Animal, too.
Homeowners can get the Tineco A11 Hero in blue, while the Dyson V11 Animal is available in purple.
Power and Performance
Dyson’s V11 Animal is more powerful and maneuverable than Tineco’s A11 Hero.
Tineco’s A11 Hero and Dyson’s V11 Animal both use cyclonic cleaning technology. On the Tineco, dirt and debris are sucked into a four-stage filtration system. Here, the main cyclone separates the large particles, while a series of filters block finer hair and dust. In contrast, Dyson applies a whole-machine filtration system that boasts 14 cyclones.
Behind the power of the V11 Animal is the Hyperdymium motor. According to Dyson, this motor spins up to 125,000rpm. It’s also rated to have a suction power of 185AW. Meanwhile, Tineco’s A11 boasts a 450-watt motor with a suction power of 120AW. Both devices claim to trap particles as small as 0.3 microns. In practice, however, the V11 Animal has a clear edge when it comes to deep cleaning. Its advantage is particularly noticeable on carpeted surfaces.
The Dyson V11 Animal also has a larger bin capacity than Tineco’s A11 Hero — 0.76 liters against 0.6 liters. It offers better maneuverability, too, making it ideal for hard-to-reach corners. Despite being heavier than the Tineco, the Dyson V11 Animal is more capable of taking sharp turns. The A11 Hero simply isn’t as responsive, although it does operate more quietly than its competitor.
Runtime and Accessories
On a single battery, the Dyson V11 Animal has a longer runtime. However, Tineco’s A11 Hero enjoys replaceable battery packs and comes with more cleaning tools.
A common gripe against cordless vacuum cleaners is their runtime. Tineco and Dyson try to address this by offering more reliable batteries on their vacuum cleaners.
The Dyson V11 Animal, for instance, lasts up to 60 minutes. However, battery life is significantly reduced if on Boost Mode. Based on reviews, max power settings limit the V11 Animal to just ten minutes of operation. Dyson makes up for this by claiming its battery is designed to be left on charge permanently. This means you can store it via the wall-mount to charge and forget about it.
On the other hand, the Tineco A11 Hero has a battery life of 40 minutes. Like Dyson’s V11 Animal, the actual runtime depends on the power mode you choose. The Tineco A11 Hero’s advantage, however, is that the battery is removable. This means you can get a second battery to serve as a backup should the need arise. With two batteries, the runtime can extend over an hour.
Tineco’s A11 Hero also comes with more cleaning tools out of the box. Aside from the LED multi-tasker brush, users get a mini power brush, 2-in-1 dusting brush, and crevice tool. Tineco has also thrown in a pre-filter cleaning tool along with a hair cleaning tool. With Dyson’s V11 Animal, homeowners get four additional attachments. These are the stubborn dirt brush, mini motorized tool, combination tool, and crevice tool.
Both Tineco and Dyson vacuum cleaners are equipped with multiple cleaning settings.
When it comes to cleaning settings, both devices are comparable. With the V11 Animal, users have three cleaning options: Eco, Auto, and Boost. As its name suggests, Eco saves the most battery life, while Boost offers max suction power. The Auto Mode, on the other hand, intelligently adjusts suction power depending on the floor surface.
Meanwhile, Tineco’s A11 Hero offers two cleaning settings. The Trigger mode is designed for instant cleaning. If you’re going for a more thorough vacuuming, then the Continuous Power mode is the available option. Tineco also offers three power modes, with Suction Modes I and II made for daily cleaning and the Max Mode designed for removing more stubborn dirt.
Both vacuum cleaners offer their respective approaches to emptying dust bins as well. Tineco’s A11 Hero, for instance, opts for a one-touch button. Meanwhile, Dyson’s V11 Animal uses a point-and-shoot mechanism for quick and easy emptying.
The Dyson V11 Animal is the more powerful vacuum cleaner but the Tineco A11 Hero is a compelling, budget alternative.
Dyson has always prided itself on its strong catalog. The Dyson V11 Animal, for instance, is just one of many models anchored on pioneering cyclonic technology. It’s a powerful cordless vacuum cleaner with premium features and a modest running time. If you want a best-in-class appliance, this is worth looking into.
At half the price of the Dyson V11 Animal, however, the Tineco A11 Hero makes a strong case for itself. It’s not as powerful as Dyson’s flagship nor is it as maneuverable. Nonetheless, Tineco’s cordless vacuum cleaner offers enough perks to make it a compelling purchase. From LED headlights to removable batteries, it’s an appliance that positions itself as a compelling alternative to the Dyson V11 Animal. For those on a budget, this is a solid purchase.
The Tineco A11 Hero is a less expensive cordless vacuum cleaner compared to the Dyson V11. It also has a lower suction power rating and smaller bin capacity.
Tineco only offers one battery for the A11 Hero. You will need to purchase the second battery separately. But if you want two batteries out of the box, you can opt for the more premium Tineco A11 Master+.
Based on our Tineco A11 review, Tineco offers more affordable vacuum cleaners compared to Dyson. Its lower-end devices also perform comparably well — at times even better — next to Dyson’s lineup. Dyson, however, has the edge when it comes to high-end vacuum cleaners.
The Tineco A11 Hero typically requires 3 to 4 hours of charging.
