Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925V) Review & Specs

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is an impressive cellphone released some years ago, in 2015, coming with a very powerful 64-bit Octa-Core CPU (they are really a Quad-Core running at 2.1 GHz and an additional Quad-Core running at 1500 megahertz), a big 5.1″ screen, and two cameras, a 16 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. Great! That’s it? Not at all, it’s only the beginning.

This phone ships with a Exynos 7 Octa 7420 chip, packing a very fast 64-bit Octa-Core processor (formed by a Quad-Core ticking at 2.1 GHz and an additional Quad-Core clocking at 1500 MHz) with a great 3 GB of RAM memory. Graphic rendering usually uses a lot of CPU time, so this cellphone counts with an extra Mali-T760 MP8 GPU clocking at 650 MHz to help the processor with those tasks. This phone comes with a large 128 GB internal storage and whereas it doesn’t come with a slot for an SD memory card, it is still enough to install hundreds of applications without thinking about how much memory is left.

This cellphone is much lighter than what you would expect from a phone of this size. This phone is quite a compact phone, taking into account that it features a 5.1″ screen and it is only 5.59″ long and 2.76 inches wide. This cellphone is just 0.28 inches thick, taking it to the thinnest phone’s category. Talking about its materials quality, this cellphone is majorly manufactured with Glass and Aluminium, giving it a high quality design and a better resistance. Samsung offers this device in a wide range of color variations, black, green, white and gold.

This cellphone features two cameras, a 16 megapixels back camera and a 5 megapixels front camera. Its back camera lens has a maximum 1.9 aperture so it can capture awesome photos even in dark situations. It is capable of capturing 3840×2160 4K videos. To complete the camera, it also counts with many cool features like flash, auto-focus, fast burst mode, face detection shooting, optical image stabilization, HDR mode, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

This cellphone has a great 5.1 inches display with a 2560 x 1440 (Quad HD / 2K) resolution, which makes it impossible to even distinguish the pixels in the display. Its display uses Super AMOLED capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This device counts with wifi connection (which it can share with other devices around, acting as a modem or router), 4G (LTE-A) , the fastest internet connection or the fastest 3G connectivity, using HSPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a Nano SIM card for GSM connection.

This cellphone counts with a 2600 mAh big non-replaceable battery that provides this cellphone a quite short battery durationcompared to other similar cellphones. A big issue to consider is that the S6 Edge’s battery is non-removable so you can’t change it when it starts losing capacity, leaving no choice but to buy a new cellphone.

This cellphone also comes with many interesting features like Bluetooth (provides communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories), Fingerprint Identification, GPS, Infrared Port and NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your cellphone close to another NFC device or tag), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.
