Razer entered the gaming chair market with the Iskur, a well-received gaming chair that has a few ergonomic features that allowed it to separate itself from the competition. Now, Razer released a more affordable version, named the Iskur X. It retains some of the features of its predecessors, but also with some compromises. If you are looking to get a gaming chair, should you cough up the cash for the pricier Razer Iskur, or should you save your money and go with the newer and cheaper Iskur X? Here’s our Razer Iskur and Razer Iskur X ergonomic gaming chair review and comparison to highlight their differences and help you decide which one is better for you.
Razer Iskur vs Razer Iskur X Comparison Chart
The Razer Iskur and Razer Iskur X are built with the same materials.
At first glance, it might be hard to spot the difference between the Razer Iskur and Iskur X as they are quite similar in looks and size, with both of them having that race car gaming chair aesthetic. However, upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that the Razer Iskur has a built-in adjustable lumbar support whereas the Iskur X has none. Also, the Iskur comes with a memory foam head cushion that you can adjust according to your preference.
When it comes to build quality, the two are pretty much identical. They both have a metal and plywood frame, and the base of the chairs have a 5-star metal powder coating. They are also equipped with identical 6cm caster wheels. In terms of durability, the Iskur and Iskur X are on par with each other.
You can get the Razer Iskur with either PVC leather (black/green and black) or fabric (dark grey) cover. The fabric cover is spill-resistant and it’s a bit softer than the PVC cover. As for the Razer Iskur X, all models are only available in PVC leather covering.
Both the Razer Iskur and Razer Iskur X come in standard and XL sizes.
Both the Razer Iskur and Iskur X are available in standard and XL sizes, and they pretty much have the same height and weight limitations. For the standard Iskur and Iskur X, the recommended height is from 5’6″ to 6′, while the weight limit is up to 299lbs.
If you are on the larger side, the Razer Iskur and Iskur XL models will be better suited for you. The XL model is recommended for people that stand 6′ up to 6’10” and it can handle up to 399lbs. Both chairs are equipped with class 4 gas lift, so they are very durable and will support the maximum weight of 399lbs.
Comfort and Support
The ergonomic adjustments of the Razer Iskur allows it to provide better comfort and support than the Razer Iskur X.
A comfortable chair is a necessity if you spend most of your time sitting in front of the computer—whether for gaming or work and productivity. In this area, the Razer Iskur and Iskur X perform very well. Razer used high density molded foam for both chairs, so they provide adequate support and comfort. The multi-layered synthetic leather feels nice, but if you live in a warmer environment, the fabric covering that’s only available with the Iskur will be more comfortable as it is a bit more breathable.
The number of ergonomic adjustments that you can make with the Razer Iskur makes it a better gaming chair over the cheaper Iskur X if you are particularly interested in these two. First, the Razer Iskur has a built-in adjustable lumbar support cushion, which will ensure that your spine is in an optimal position.
It also comes with a memory foam headrest that you can adjust so that your neck is supported. Furthermore, it has a 4D armrest that provides more positions than the 2D armrest of the Iskur X. The only similarity that these two have when it comes to ergonomics is their 139-degree back adjustment.
The ergonomic adjustments of the Razer Iskur makes it a worthwhile purchase. The Razer Iskur X, in our opinion, is not worth buying as it doesn’t have enough features for the price.
