Design
The Tineco Floor ONE S5 and S5 Pro have the same design and build quality.

At first glance, there’s no discernable difference between the Tineco Floor ONE S5 and S5 Pro, because there isn’t one. They have the same exact design and build quality. Both are lightweight enough that they can be used for extended periods without causing forearm fatigue. They both weigh 9.9lbs, by the way.
They have an ergonomic design that features swivel steering and easy maneuverability for hard to reach areas and corners in the house. The brush roller is designed to clean edges effectively since one side does not have any obstruction. Also, the handle is easy to grip and it is placed at an optimal height.
Both of these wet dry vacs come with separate tanks for clean and dirty water. This feature allows you to always use the clean water and a deodorizing solution while cleaning. You don’t have to stop and separate the clean and dirty water in the middle of cleaning, so you won’t be wasting time.
Features
The Tineco Floor ONE S5 and S5 Pro have similar features, but the latter comes with LCD animations.

These two wet dry vacs have similar feature sets, with the S5 Pro having a couple more. They are both 2-in-1 wet dry vacs that can vacuum and mop in one go. They come with the same iLoop Smart Sensor technology that automatically adjusts the suction power, water flow and roller speed for ease of use and efficient battery use.
Both of these wet dry vacs come with a wide range of Smart capabilities. The Tineco app connects to these vacuum cleaners via WiFi and inside it, you can monitor various functions such as remaining battery life, water tank condition, which mode is in use and more. There’s also a voice assistant that notifies you if you need to perform a self-cleaning cycle, empty the water tanks, battery condition and so on.
One major difference between these two wet dry vacs is with their color LCD screen. The LCD on the base S5 shows the remaining battery life and it has a color ring that goes from red to blue to let you know if the immediate area still needs cleaning. The screen on the S5 Pro also show those information, but it also has a 3D animation showing the status of the surface and where and how much dirt and debris are left.
Performance
The suction mode is exclusive to the Tineco Floor ONE S5 Pro and the base S5 only has the auto and max modes.

As mentioned earlier, the Tineco Floor ONE S5 and S5 Pro are 2-in-1 vacuum mops. They can vacuum and mop at the same time, making them excellent time savers. When turned on, they will automatically choose auto mode which basically means that the vacuums will automatically adjust the suction power, roller speed and water flow to match the detected mess. Needless to say, this is very convenient since you don’t have to manually fiddle with the settings before and during cleaning.
The max mode means that the vacuums will be on full power. This is recommended if you haven’t cleaned in a while. You don’t need to guess if your floor is still dirty though, since the iLoop display will inform you when its loop ring turns red. It will stay red until the area is clean and once it is clean, it will turn blue.
One mode that is exclusive to the Tineco Floor ONE S5 Pro is the suction only mode. This mode takes out its mopping functionality and allows you to just vacuum the surface. This is a big advantage of the S5 Pro since you can use it on surfaces that the base S5 can’t clean, such as hardwood floors that can be damaged with a water and cleaning solution and so on.
Battery and Maintenance
The Tineco Floor ONE S5 and S5 Pro have the same battery capacity and runtime.

Both wet dry vacs are equipped with 4,000mAh batteries and they have a runtime of up to 35 mins, plenty of time if you have a modest sized home. They come with a 3-in-1 docking station that also houses the extra brush roller that comes with them.
The 3-in-1 docking station is also where the vacuums will perform their self-cleaning cycles. Even though they are marketed as self-cleaning, there is still some manual labor that need to be done in order to get them thoroughly cleaned.
First is the manual emptying of the dirty water tank. If you have pets in the house, this can be a laborious task since hairs can get stuck in the tube of the tank, so you’ll need to use the cleaning brush (included) to clear it out. Then you’ll have to fill the clean water tank to at least 40%. After that, you can push the self-cleaning button and it will take around five minutes to complete. But you’re not done yet. You need to empty the dirty water tank again and if there are still hairs stuck in the brush roller, you’ll need to manually clean it.
Verdict
The Tineco Floor ONE S5 is good enough for a lot of households, but for some, the versatility of the S5 Pro is worth paying extra for.
Both of these wet dry vacuums are excellent and they come with a lot of smart features that make cleaning a breeze. They are easy to use and they have plenty of juice to clean even large homes on a single charge. You should go with the Tineco Floor ONE S5 if all you need is a 2-in-1 vacuum/mop and you don’t need the extra features of the Pro model. It’s cheaper and it will be more than good enough for a lot of households. The suction only mode and animated display of the Tineco Floor ONE S5 Pro are nice additions, and with these extra function and feature, the Pro model is definitely the more capable machine. But are they worth paying an extra hundred dollars for? For some, yes, but for most people, the price premium is not worth it.
