The two pairs of earbuds have the same look, which is similar to that of the Apple AirPods. They have an in-ear design with stems or stalks that protrude from the buds. The stems of the Skullcandy Indy ANC are slightly longer, but in real-world use case, this difference does not mean much.

Both pair of earbuds are quite comfortable since they don’t go in too deep into the ear canals. They come with additional ear tips so that you can find the best fit. The two earbuds share some features, including left and right solo earbud use, built-in Tile tracking and Skullcandy app compatibility. You’ll be able to use either the left or right earbud if you want one of your ears to be free, without losing functionality.

With their Tile tracking feature, it’s easy to locate them if you ever misplace them. This is very helpful since these earbuds are completely wireless. You just need to download the Tile app and follow the instructions on how to use it.

While these two are similar in many ways, that’s not the case when it comes to their sound. The Skullcandy Indy ANC have a more pronounced bass, a more accurate mid-range frequency and a slightly better sounding treble range than the Skullcandy Indy Evo. When ANC is turned on, the bass of the Skullcandy Indy ANC can be quite overwhelming. However, when ANC is off, the bass is slightly more relaxed, but it is still punchy and boomy. The mids are accurate and you’ll clearly hear the vocals and instruments in this range. The treble range is a bit dull and lacking in detail, resulting in a veiled sound.

Meanwhile, the Skullcandy Indy Evo have a more accurate bass, good mid-range and a dull treble range. The bass is very good, it’s not overpowering while still providing plenty of thump in your music. The mid-range frequency is also good and it is comparable to that of the Skullcandy Indy ANC. However, the Skullcandy Indy Evo’s treble is underemphasized, resulting in a dark overall sound.

The Skullcandy Indy ANC are much improved when it comes to battery life. They have a total battery life of up to 32 hours when ANC is turned off, or up to 19 hours when ANC is enabled. They also come with a rapid charge feature that gives you 2 hours of music playback with a 10-minute charge.

The battery life of the Skullcandy Indy Evo is also very good. They have a total battery life of up to 30 hours, 6 hours for the buds and an additional 24 hours from the charging case. Similar to the Skullcandy Indy ANC, they also have a rapid charge feature. Their rapid charge feature gives you 2.5 hours of music playback with a 15-minute charge.
