The Samsung Jet 75 and Dyson V11 Animal are both sleek and lightweight cordless vacuum cleaners.

On the left, the Samsung Jet 75’s lightweight form; on the right, the Dyson V11 Animal’s sleek digital display.

The Samsung Jet 75 is a sleek-looking cordless vacuum that boasts a lightweight form and an ergonomic handle. While it’s mostly made of plastic, it’s far from shoddy. After all, the Jet 75 comes in a refined metallic finish that gives it a premium feel. However, as the midrange model in the Jet series, it lacks some features like a telescopic handle. It’s one of the things that make the Jet 75 easier to compare with the Dyson V11 Animal.

You see, Dyson’s flagship cordless vacuum comes with a fixed handle, too. It’s not a huge difference-maker when it comes to maneuverability but does play a role in storage. Nonetheless, the slim design of the Dyson V11 Animal more than makes up for the lack of a telescopic wand. It comes with more personality, too, thanks to a purple and nickel color finish. Plus, the Dyson V11’s digital display looks more futuristic than the Samsung Jet 75’s.

Of course, there are shared features between the two. Samsung’s Jet 75 and Dyson’s V11 Animal come with in-hand dustbins made from see-through plastic. You also get a generous handle behind the dustbin compartment that makes for a reliable and secure grip. Samsung’s vacuum cleaner, however, comes with a couple more components compared to the Dyson V11. This gives the latter an edge when it comes to assembly.

Cleaning Performance

The Samsung Jet 75 has the edge when it comes to general cleaning, while the Dyson V11 Animal is better at picking up pet hair and danders.

Samsung Jet 75 vs Dyson V11 Cleaning Performance
Samsung’s Jet 75 uses a 5-Layer filtration system while Dyson’s V11 Animal employs whole-machine filtration.

Samsung’s Jet 75 and Dyson’s V11 Animal both use cyclonic technology. On Samsung’s vacuum cleaner, the particles sucked into the machine go through a 5-Layer filter. This system gradually separates larger particles from finer dust and micro-dust. It’s also complemented by a clog-reducing cyclone technology that uses powerful suction to keep dust and debris from accumulating on the filters.

Dyson, which pioneered cyclonic technology, relies on its proprietary Dyson Hyperdymium motor to help generate its cyclones โ€” 14 to be exact. This digital motor spins 60 times per second, allowing the brush head to dislodge dirt and debris while also capturing finer particles on surfaces. Dyson also uses a whole-machine filtration system, which it claims traps particles as small as 0.3 microns.

As its name suggests, the Dyson V11 Animal has a slight edge when it comes to sucking in pet hair. Samsung’s Jet 75, on the other hand, has the lead when it comes to suction power and bin capacity. Both vacuum cleaners work well on hard surfaces, with the Jet 75 doing better at trapping both large and small particles. When it comes to high-pile and low-pile carpets, the Samsung Jet 75 and Dyson V11 Animal vacuums are good enough for quick pick-ups, too.

Accessories and Attachments

You get a number of accessories for both the Samsung Jet 75 and Dyson V11 Animal.

Samsung Jet 75 vs Dyson V11 Accessories and Attachments
Here are the attachments you get for the Dyson V11 Animal (left) and the Samsung Jet 75 (right).

Like many of today’s cordless vacuum cleaners, the Samsung Jet 75 and Dyson V11 Animal come with several accessories. These attachments allow the Jet 75 and V11 Animal to operate across a range of surfaces, angles, and spaces in your home.

With the Samsung vacuum cleaner, you’re getting two standard brushes โ€” a Soft Action brush for hard floors and a Turbo brush for multiple surfaces. Both attachments feature a 180-degree swivel head, too, for easy maneuvering. Samsung also includes a Combo brush, Mini Powered brush, Crevice tool, and Flex tool. The last two accessories are designed to give the Samsung Jet 75 more flexibility in hard-to-reach corners of your home.

The Dyson V11 Animal has fewer components, but the cleaning attachments you get are more than enough. Dyson’s cordless vacuum comes with a Stubborn Dirt brush, Crevice tool, and Combination tool. Its standard attachment, however, is a High Torque cleaner head that features stiff nylon bristles and anti-static carbon fiber filaments for multi-surface cleaning.

For storage and charging, Samsung’s Jet 75 uses a 2-in-1 charging station that is wall-mounted but also switches into a standalone charger. Dyson’s V11, on the other hand, comes with a docking station.

Runtime and Other Features

The Samsung Jet 75 and Dyson V11 Animal have comparable runtimes, although Samsung’s vacuum charges faster than Dyson’s.

Samsung Jet 75 vs Dyson V11 Runtime and Other Features
Samsung’s charging station can be wall-mounted just like Dyson’s.

On the Samsung Jet 75, you can choose from three power levels (Min, Mid, and Max) plus a wet mode. Meanwhile, the Dyson V11 Animal has Eco, Auto, and Boost Modes. In both cases, the cleaning mode and suction power you choose greatly impact your vacuum’s battery life.

Samsung and Dyson advertise their vacuum cleaners to last up to an hour on a single charge. However, putting them in Max or Boost mode, respectively, will give you only about 10-minutes of power. If you’re looking to clean the house for more than 30 minutes, you’re better off using the Jet 75 and V11 Animal with lower settings.

The Samsung Jet 75 takes about 3.5 hours to charge. Unlike the Samsung Jet 90, its charging station doesn’t come with dual-adaptors, so you’ll need to make the most out of a single battery. Dyson’s V11 Animal, on the other hand, can take up to 4 hours to charge. To make up for this long wait, Dyson shares the Animal’s battery is designed to be left on charge permanently. It also stops using electricity automatically once the battery is fully charged.

The Samsung Jet 75 has more practical features and advantages that make it a more compelling purchase over the Dyson V11 Animal.

Both the Samsung Jet 75 and Dyson V11 Animal deliver powerful suction and come with an array of attachments for stick or handheld operation. They also work well across most surfaces, trapping large debris and pet hair with ease. However, as expected of cordless cleaners, they don’t fare as well with finer particles. Their runtimes aren’t exceptional either since the lightweight form makes compromises on battery capacity.

This is the crux of choosing between the Samsung Jet 75 and Dyson V11 Animal. As it stands, Samsung’s only edge is a versatile charging station. Its leads in suction power and extra attachments, after all, aren’t exactly noticeable. But considering their modest runtimes, having a vacuum that charges faster seems more attractive. The charging station can switch from wall-mount to standalone unit, too. Dyson may have pioneered cyclonic tech for vacuums, but it’s hard to see this innovation when the Samsung Jet feels like a more practical purchase.
