Samsung Galaxy Centura (SCH-S738C) Review & Specs

Samsung Galaxy Centura is a low-end Android cellphone, including a 3.5-inches multi touch screen, a 3 mega-pixels back facing camera and a good 800 megahertz CPU. Let’s take a better view of what this device can do.

The Centura is equipped with a fast processor clocking at 800 MHz, packed into a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7625A system chip with 512 MB of RAM. Helping with graphic rendering, this cellphone also has an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit running at 128 megahertz. This cellphone has a 4 GB internal storage memory, an average quantity that should be enough having that the Centura also has an SD extension slot to store pictures and videos and even some games and apps that allow external memory installation.

It appears that Samsung didn’t care so much about the weight in this 4.4 ounces phone. This device’s thickness , 0.45″, is a little far from current standards, but it still feels fine in the user’s hand.

Samsung designed this cellphone with an average 3.5″ display, and a 480 x 320 resolution, giving this cellphone a decent graphic quality. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

This device doesn’t have a SIM card, because it isn’t a GSM phone.

This cellphone is equipped with only a 3 MP back side camera. Additionally, the camera counts with geo tagging.

The Samsung Galaxy Centura uses a mid capacity 1500 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery that can keep the Centura running for several hours. This phone has an estimated talk time of 7 hours and a stand by time of 240 hours according to Samsung.

This phone also comes with some interesting features like Bluetooth (enables communication with other cellphones and accessories), GPS and NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your phone close to another NFC device or tag), and some sensors likeProximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
