The Razer Leviathan V2 (left) is a soundbar with subwoofer while the Logitech G560 (right) is a 2.1 speaker with subwoofer.

Both of these speaker systems are designed primarily for PC use, but they have different form factors. The Razer Leviathan V2 is a soundbar with a subwoofer while the Logitech G560 is a 2.1 system with two satellites and a sub.

The Razer Leviathan V2 measures 19.7 x 3.6 x 3.3 inches and it weighs 3.08lbs. It has a matte black finish with dark grilles that cover the drivers. The feet are removable, so you can fit it under most monitors since it’s not very wide. There are buttons on top of the soundbar for volume, power, source and Bluetooth pairing. It has one USB audio input for wired connectivity. As for the subwoofer, its physical dimensions are 8.67 x 8.67 x 9.5 inches and it weighs 6.61lbs. Much like the soundbar, the subwoofer is compact and won’t take up too much space underneath your desk.

The Logitech G560 satellite speakers measure 6.53 x 4.84 x 5.82 inches and they collectively weigh 3.9lbs. These are circular speakers with stands that reflect their RGB feature. The left satellite is just a speaker, while the right satellite has the volume controls, Bluetooth pairing button, RGB lighting patterns and power button. You connect them to the subwoofer, then the subwoofer is connected to your PC. The subwoofer is rectangular in shape, and it measures 10.3 x 8.15 x 15.9 inches, so it’s a bit on the tall side. Weighing 12.2lbs, it’s almost twice as heavy as the sub of the Razer Leviathan V2.

Features

Logitech LIGHTSYNC provides better RGB effects than Razer Chroma RGB—both speakers support virtual surround sound.

razer leviathan vs logitech g560 features
The Razer Leviathan V2 (left) has multiple apps (for PC and mobile) which can be confusing while the Logitech G560 (right) uses only a single PC app.

When it comes to features, the two are similar. They both support virtual surround sound so the option is there if you want to experience simulated surround sound with limited speakers. Both are decent in this area, with audio quality taking a slight hit. They sound a bit hollow, so the two speakers are best used in stereo mode.

The Razer Leviathan V2 can be used with several apps, depending on the source. On PC, you can use the Razer Synapse 3 software to customize RGB, play with EQ settings and toggle between stereo and THX spatial audio. When connected via Bluetooth to your phone or tablet, the Chroma RGB app is used to control the lighting effects while the Razer audio app gives you EQ options. The Razer audio app also acts as a remote controller.

Meanwhile, you can use the Logitech Gaming Software with the Logitech G560. Inside the app, you can toggle between stereo and surround, control the lighting options, switch EQ settings and create profiles for various games. The software is easy enough to use and the LIGHTSYNC feature is very good. You can play with various lighting effects and even sync your speaker with other Logitech RGB peripherals. In addition, Logitech’s screen sampler allows you to take color samples from each quadrant of your monitor to sync with the speakers. As far as features go, it’s close, but the RGB performance of the Logitech G560 gives it the edge over the Razer Leviathan V2.

Performance

Both speakers are great for gaming and movies, but not so much for music listening.

A look at the specs and features of the Razer Leviathan V2 (left) and Logitech G560 (right).

Razer and Logitech tout these speakers as versatile, meaning that they can be used for gaming, movies and music. This is true, but performance will vary greatly depending on how you use these speakers. For gaming, the two are great, especially in action games with lots of gunfire, explosions and fast action. The subwoofers are quite boomy, so bursts of loud noise is quite good. The Razer Leviathan V2 has a narrower soundstage than the Logitech G560, which has the advantage of being placed further apart. In that sense, the Logitech G560 can provide better imaging and directional audio. We like the Logitech G560 better for gaming.

When listening to music, both speakers are decent. Once again, the subwoofers can be a bit boomy, so there can be imbalance between the bass, mids and highs. You can play with the different EQ settings for each speaker system, but we found that whatever EQ setting you use, the bass can still be a bit overpowering.

As for movie watching, the support for virtual surround sound is a nice feature. In stereo mode, both are excellent. Since these will be placed on your desk, you don’t have to turn the volume way up to hear speech and dialogue, unlike with home theater systems where environmental sound, explosions and other ambient sound seem to always drown out the actors’ voice.

By the way, the Logitech G560 has a headphone jack, so you can plug your headset during nighttime gaming and movie sessions to not disturb others.

Verdict

The Logitech G560 is better than the Razer Leviathan V2, plus it’s cheaper.

Razer Leviathan V2

Logitech G560

If you are looking to get a PC speaker system and you are choosing between the Razer Leviathan V2 and Logitech G560, we recommend that you get the latter. In addition to being cheaper, it offers better RGB implementation, a wider soundstage and better imaging, and it has a headphone jack, which is very convenient to have since you are going to use them with your PC. The Razer Leviathan V2 is a good speaker system if you are looking to get a soundbar system. But if form factor is not a huge concern, then the Logitech G560 is the better overall choice.
