Design
The Razer Basilisk V2 is lighter at just 92 grams, but the Logitech G502’s weight can be adjusted.

These two gaming mice are designed for right-handed users, so if you are a lefty, unfortunately, you can’t use them. They both have a pointy and angular design that are common with a lot of gaming mice. The Razer Basilisk V2 is a bit smaller than the Logitech G502, so people with smaller hands will find it to be more comfortable. In addition to being slightly smaller, the Razer Basilisk V2 is also lighter, weighing only 92 grams. Meanwhile, the Logitech G502 weighs 121 grams to 139 grams, depending on the number of removable weights that you use.
Since the Razer Basilisk V2 is a tad smaller, it is more comfortable to palm grip than the Logitech G502. However, its button placement, specifically, the one button at its underside, is less than ideal. You’ll need to turn the mouse over every time you need to switch DPI. The Logitech G502 does not have this problem since all of its buttons are reachable when the mouse is facing up.
Both mice support RGB lighting using the brands’ respective software. The Razer Basilisk V2 supports Chroma RGB while the Logitech G502 supports Lightsync.

Features
The Razer Synapse 3 software is fully supported only on Windows, while Logitech’s G Hub is fully supported on both Windows and MacOS.

In terms of features, the biggest difference between the two mice is their sensor. The Razer Basilisk V2 is equipped with the Razer Focus+ sensor that has a dpi range of 100 – 20000 and a polling rate of 1000Hz. On the other hand, the Logitech G502 sports the HERO 25K sensor that has a dpi range of 100 – 25600 and the same polling rate of 1000Hz. It’s obvious that the HERO 25K sensor is a step above the Focus+ sensor if you look their max dpi.
In order to unlock and take advantage of all the features that these gaming mice offer, you’ll need to download the brands’ respective software. For the Razer Basilisk V2, it’s the Razer Synapse 3 software, and for the Logitech G502, you’ll need to download the Logitech G Hub.
Both software offer a ton of customization options to the user. You can program the buttons, create profiles, play with the RGB settings and more. You can also save up to 5 custom profiles on both mice since they have onboard memory.
One advantage of the Logitech G Hub is that it is fully compatible with Windows and MacOS, so you have access to all the features of the Logitech G502 if you game on a Mac. The Razer Synapse 3, on the other hand, is not available on MacOS, so not all of the Basilisk’s features are available.
Performance
The Logitech G502 is easier to use than the Razer Basilisk V2 since all its buttons are reachable without having to turn the mouse upside down.

In terms of comfort, the Razer Basilisk V2 definitely has the upper hand since it is a tad smaller and it is lighter. You can use it for long gaming sessions without experiencing fatigue or discomfort. Even those with smaller hands can reach all the extra buttons with ease. The same can’t be said about the Logitech G502 since it is a bit bulky. The extra height of the Logitech G502 can make it hard for those with smaller hands to reach some of the side buttons.
As far as gaming performance goes, the HERO 25K sensor of the Logitech G502 is a step above the Focus+ sensor of the Razer Basilisk V2. It has a higher max dpi of up to 25600, so it offers better customizability for gamers when it comes to sensitivity. That said, the difference in max dpi will not be an issue for most, especially those that play casually or those that aren’t competitive. Both mice offer excellent gaming performance, but if you are a competitive gamer and you want every bit of advantage over the competition, you should go with the Logitech G502.
When it comes to button placement, the Logitech G502 has the advantage since all of its buttons are reachable while the mouse is facing up. On the Razer Basilisk, one of its buttons is at the underside of the mouse, making it hard to reach during intense gaming sequences. The Logitech G502 won’t give you this issue since you can access all of its buttons without having to turn it upside down.
Verdict
Both are excellent gaming mice, so choosing between the Razer Basilisk V2 and the Logitech G502 will come down to personal preference.
Since the Razer Basilisk V2 and the Logitech G502 have almost the same price and performance, choosing between the two will come down to which factors are more important to you. If you want a smaller mouse that’s also lighter for comfort, the Razer Basilisk V2 is the obvious choice. It only weighs 92 grams and it is not as bulky as the Logitech G502. However, if you want a gaming mouse with a more user-friendly button layout, you should go with the Logitech G502. All of its buttons are easily reachable and as a bonus, the Logitech G Hub is a much better companion app than the Razer Synapse 3.
