HTC Legend Review

Unlocked HTC Legend A6363 Touch Android OS GPS Wi-Fi 3G Phone Red

HTC Legend is a mid-end Android device launched in February 2010, including a medium sized 3.2" capacitive touch-screen, a good 600 MHz processing unit and a 5 megapixels back facing camera. Let's take a better sight of what this cellphone offers to us.

HTC forgot about weight optimization in this 4.44 ounces phone, much heavier than other similar devices. The HTC Legend isn't a compact phone, given that it is 4.41" long, but it just packs a 3.2 inches screen. The HTC Legend is thin, while it's not so slim as many other phones currently available, with a thickness of 0.45 inches.

The HTC Legend has a good 3.2 inches display with a 480 x 320 resolution, providing this cellphone with an average graphic quality. This display uses AMOLED capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

HTC equipped this phone with a fast 600 megahertz processing unit, packed into the Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227 chip and only 384 MB of RAM. Graphic calculations usually eats lots of CPU time, so it also counts with an Adreno 200 GPU speeding at 128 megahertz to take some work out of the CPU.

The HTC Legend has only a 5 megapixels back side camera. It is also able to capture VGA 640x480 videos at 30 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also features a few useful characteristics like auto-focus, flash and geo tagging.

This cellphone packs a mid capacity 1300 mAh Li-Ion removable battery providing this phone with an amazing battery life. HTC claims this phone has a 8.2 hours talk time and a 440 hs stand by time.

This cellphone features Wi-Fi capability (although it can't share it with other devices around, as a mobile hotspot) or fast 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card for GSM connection.

This cellphone also comes with many interesting features like Bluetooth (enables communication with other phones, computers and accessories), GPS, NFC (Near Field Communication) and Radio, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The HTC Legend is a bit overpriced considering it costs $ 129, and some similar phones are being sold for less than that.
