Design

The Owlet Home dog camera is wall mountable and it has suction cups at the bottom, so it is more versatile than the Furbo dog camera when it comes to placement.

owlet home vs furbo design
The Owlet Home (left) and the Furbo (right) dog camera are modern looking devices that will fit in well with any interior style.

These two are quite different when it comes to their looks. The Owlet Home dog camera has a standard rectangular shape with rounded corners. It looks very modern, especially with its black and white aesthetic. On the other hand, the Furbo dog camera has a figure that is similar to that of an hourglass that makes it more unique. Both of them are made of mostly plastic parts but they feel durable.

The plastic lid on top of the Owlet Home and the bamboo wood cover of the Furbo are easy to remove if you need to refill them with treats. Located at the front are their cameras, mics and speakers, as well as their treat tosser/popper. Both also have light indicators to let you know what functions are currently in use.

At the base of the Owlet Home are four suction cups that let you place the dog camera firmly on tables, desks and other furniture. It also has two wall mounting points at the back, if you prefer to mount it on a wall. The Furbo dog camera, on the other hand, has 3M adhesives at its base. There are no mounting points on the Furbo dog camera, so you are limited to placing it on top of tables, desks and other furniture.

Features

The Furbo dog camera has more features than the Owlet Home, but most of them are locked behind a subscription-based service.

The Owlet Home and Furbo dog cameras are both capable of tossing treats for your dogs. You can easily control the cameras’ treat tossing feature via the app. Also, these two will work with Alexa, so you can control them with voice commands. One advantage of the Owlet Home is that it has a manual feeding capability. When you are at home, you can easily dispense a treat manually with the Owlet Home. With the Furbo, you’ll need to use the app.

A feature that you only get with the Furbo dog camera is its Bark Alert feature. The Furbo dog camera will send you notifications whenever your dog barks, so that you are made aware of what your dog is doing. You can customize the detection sensitivity of the camera so that it will be accurate.

If you want to get access to even more features with the Furbo dog camera, you can opt to subscribe to their Furbo Dog Nanny service. Verdict
