Design

The Logitech G Pro X is lighter than the Razer Viper Ultimate.

logitech g pro x vs razer viper ultimate design
The Logitech G Pro X (left) and Razer Viper Ultimate (right) both have ambidextrous form factors.

Both of them have ambidextrous designs, so they can be used by left and right-handed users. That said, the Razer Viper Ultimate has an advantage in this area because it has thumb buttons on both sides—left and right handed users will have an easier time reaching these buttons with their thumb. The Logitech G Pro X, on the other hand, only has thumb buttons on its left side, so even though it has an ambidextrous form factor, it is geared more towards right-handed users.

The Logitech G Pro X has five buttons in total—left and right, scroll wheel and two thumb buttons. In contrast, the Razer Viper Ultimate has eight—left and right, scroll wheel, four side buttons and a DPI switch at the bottom. Even though the Razer Viper Ultimate has more buttons, their placement is not the best. The two side buttons opposite of your thumb can still be used, but they are not optimally placed, and the DPI switch at the bottom ultimately means that you won’t be using it much, especially in the middle of a game.

Both of these gaming mice are lightweight and this allows them to perform very well when gaming. The Logitech G Pro is the lighter model, weighing less than 63 grams. The Razer Viper Ultimate is slightly heavier, at 74 grams. Their lightweight builds are impressive, considering that they are wireless and they have built-in batteries.

The Logitech G Pro X is available in either black or white, while the Razer Viper Ultimate has four color options—black, white, pink and yellow/black (Cyberpunk 2077 edition). They both come with micro USB charging cables and their 2.4GHz USB receivers. At the bottom of both mice are compartments for their receivers, so they are very portable.

Features

The Hero 25K sensor of the Logitech G Pro X has a wider sensitivity range than the Razer Viper Ultimate’s Focus+ sensor.

logitech g pro x vs razer viper ultimate features
The Logitech G Pro X (left) has a maximum sensitivity of 25600 DPI while the Razer Viper Ultimate (right) has a 20000 DPI max.

Both mice are designed for competitive players and their sensors reflect that. The Logitech G Pro X is equipped with Logitech’s Hero 25K sensor and with this, it has a maximum sensitivity of 25600 DPI. You can change the sensitivity using the Logitech G Hub software. The Logitech G Hub software also allows you to do more customizations, such as button remapping, profile creation and polling rate adjustment.

Speaking of polling rate, the Logitech G Pro X has four polling rate options—125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz and 1000Hz. You can create different profiles for different games and you can save up to five profiles in the Logitech G Pro X’s onboard memory.

The Razer Viper Ultimate comes with Razer’s Focus+ sensor, which has a maximum sensitivity of 20000 DPI. While it “only” reaches 20000 DPI, compared to the 25600 DPI of the Hero 25K sensor, it is still very good and it allows you to have excellent precision when gaming. To adjust different settings and make customizations, you’ll need to download the Razer Synapse 3 software.

The Razer Synapse 3 software allows you to remap buttons, adjust sensitivity, tweak RGB settings, adjust polling rates and more. You have three polling rate options with the Razer Viper Ultimate—125Hz, 500Hz and 1000Hz. Similar to the Logitech G Pro X, the Razer Viper Ultimate also has on-board memory for up to five profiles.

Performance

The Logitech G Pro X and the Razer Viper Ultimate offer similar gaming performance, with the slight edge to the Logitech mouse.

logitech g pro x vs razer viper ultimate performance
Both are lightweight, with the Logitech G Pro X (left) weighing 63 grams and the Razer Viper Ultimate (right) weighing 74 grams.

These two gaming mice are excellent when it comes to fast-paced games that require twitch reactions and pinpoint accuracy. However, the Logitech G Pro X does have a slight edge since it is lighter and more comfortable to use. That said, the difference is not that great, and you’ll still be able to have an excellent experience with the Razer Viper Ultimate. Both the Hero 25K sensor and Focus+ sensor deliver exceptional performance and the difference between the two is quite minimal, in all honesty.

When it comes to other games, such as those that don’t need fast reactions or MMOs or MOBAs, they pretty much perform the same. It’s the same story when using them for everyday computer tasks such as browsing, work, etc.

As for their battery performance, they have the same runtime of up to 70 hours. Both come with micro USB cables that also allow you to use them in wired mode while charging.

Verdict

Since they are priced the same and they offer similar performance, you can choose either and you won’t be disappointed.

The Logitech G Pro X and the Razer Viper Ultimate offer very similar performance, so we think that choosing between the two will come down to which one is priced lower at the time of purchase, or if you prefer one brand over the other. Both mice are lightweight, have accurate sensors and they both have reliable software for customization and settings adjustment. You won’t be disappointed with either one.
