When choosing a gaming headset, it’s a good idea to stick to known brands like Razer and Logitech. Design
The Logitech G Pro X’s build quality is a major factor when choosing between the two.

When you look at these two gaming headsets, you’ll notice that the Logitech G Pro X looks like it has the more sturdy build, and it does. It has a metal frame along with steel hinges and some plastic parts, mostly on the earcups and some parts of the headband. On the other hand, the Razer BlackShark V2 is made mostly with plastic. The metal parts that connect the earcups to the headbands are very thin and are the first parts that will most likely break if you aren’t careful.
Comfort-wise, both headsets are lightweight and can be used for long gaming sessions. The clamping force on the Logitech G Pro X is a bit stronger, but it will not pose an issue as it is still relatively relaxed when compared to other gaming headsets. Both gaming headsets have padded headbands and memory foam padded ear cushions covered in leather. The Logitech G Pro X comes with an extra pair of cloth memory foam cushions, which is more breathable and comfortable for people that wear glasses.
On the Logitech G Pro X, the included cables have in-line controls, while on the Razer BlackShark V2, the controls are located on the left earcup. You can control the volume and mute the mic on both headsets. As for their microphones, both are removable so that they aren’t in the way if you’re not using them.
Features
Both headsets come with many useful features.

Since both the Logitech G Pro X and Razer BlackShark V2 are wired, they will work with any device that has a 3.5mm input, including game consoles, mobile phones and more. However, they are designed to be used for PC gaming, so most of their features can only be fully realized when gaming on a PC.
In order to enjoy surround sound and all other features, you’ll need to download their software, specifically, the Logitech G Hub for the Logitech G Pro X and the Razer Synapse 3 for the Razer BlackShark V2. Both software will allow you to tinker with EQ settings, enable surround sound, save sound profiles and more. When it comes to user experience, the Logitech G Hub is easier to use, as the Razer Synapse 3 is still a bit clunky.
On the Logitech G Hub, you’ll have access to the Blue Vo!ce feature, which really makes a huge difference in the sound quality of your mic. Without it, the Logitech mic sounds a bit thin and flat, so you’ll want to enable this feature in order to sound good. There is no Razer alternative for this feature as of yet.
Performance
They both sound great for gaming and music.

As stated above, both headsets are comfortable and can be used for long gaming sessions since they are lightweight and provide enough padding for comfort. Also, even though they are closed back headphones, they don’t trap heat as much as other closed-backs, so you won’t have issues with heat.
When it comes to sound quality, both are great. They don’t have exaggerated lows and highs that you’ll find on most other gaming headsets. That said, they still have a bit of an emphasis on the bass, but not too much that it sounds ridiculous. Both headsets perform well when it comes to music due to their more balanced sound.
As for gaming, they can work in either stereo or surround mode. Virtual surround mode on both gaming headsets are excellent. You’ll be able to pinpoint sound sources easily, which can make your gaming experience more immersive. However, the Logitech G Pro X does have a bit of an advantage in this area since you can boost the volume for directional sound using the Logitech G Hub software.
When it comes to soundstage, they’re about as good as any closed back headphones.
Verdict
Both are great when it comes to sound quality and features, but the more premium build quality of the Logitech G Pro X puts it ahead.
Amazon productIf you’re looking to get a gaming headset, you can’t go wrong with either the Logitech G Pro X or the Razer BlackShark V2. They both perform well when it comes to sound quality and they offer many features that can enhance your gaming experience. The only issue we have with the Razer BlackShark V2 is its less than stellar build quality. Even though the Logitech G Pro X is a bit more expensive, we recommend it over the Razer BlackShark V2. It’s worth it to spend extra for its better build quality.
FAQs
It has great features and it sounds excellent. The only thing we don’t like about it is its build quality. If you don’t find any issues with its design, yes, it’s worth it.
It has thick headband padding, thick earpad cushions and it is lightweight enough to be comfortable for long gaming sessions. Even though it is a closed back headset, it doesn’t get warm at all.
Since it is a closed back headset and it can fully seal your ears, it does have some passive noise cancelling. However, it doesn’t have active noise cancelling.
There are two Logitech G Pro X variants—wired and wireless. Both versions do not have Bluetooth. The wireless version connects via a 2.4 GHz USB receiver.
