Design

When it comes to design, the Logitech C925e is the bulkier and heavier one but it has a more modern look than the C930e.

Logitech C925e vs C930e design comparison
The Logitech C925e (left) has a significantly wider design than the C930e (right).

When you look at the Logitech C925e and C930e side by side, the first thing you will notice is that the C925e is significantly wider. It measures almost an inch wider than the C930e.

Although the newer C925e is slightly bigger and heavier, it has a more modern, streamlined design. It is similar to what you’ll find on smart TVs.

One nifty little design feature on the C930e that is lacking on the C925e is an external privacy shutter that you can flip down when you’re not using the webcam. The C925e does feature an internal shutter but it doesn’t quite give you the peace of mind the C930e’s physical privacy shutter does.

Both webcams come with very similar mounts that can be attached to most monitors and LCD screens. They can also be attached to a camera tripod. These mounts can be panned and tilted, allowing you to adjust the frame to fit your environment.

Video

The Logitech C930e packs a few more video features than the C925e, such as an H.264 SVC encoder, 4x digital zoom, and a wide 90-degree field view.

The Logitech C925e (left) and C930e (right) have similar video capabilities

When it comes to video, these two webcams are also quite similar. As we mentioned earlier, they’re both capable of handling 1080p at 30 frames per second or 720p at the same frame rate. They also both feature Logitech’s RightLight 2 light correction. This processor boosts the light in your environment and produces sharper and clearer video even in low light.

The “e” at the end of C925e and C930e stands for “encoder”. This means that these two webcams have built-in video encoders. They both support MJPEG and H.264 compression which helps reduce bandwidth usage while maintaining video quality. The Logitech C930e has the edge when it comes to video encoding because of its newer H.264 SVC encoder. H.264 SVC adjusts frame rate and resolution in real-time based on your network condition.

The C930e also has the edge with its 90-degree field view versus the C925e’s 78-degrees, and its 4x digital zoom versus the C925e’s 1.2x digital zoom.

Audio

The Logitech C925e and C930e have identical audio hardware and features.

The Logitech C925e (left) and C930e (right) both feature 2 omnidirectional microphones

Both the Logitech C925e and C930e have two built-in omnidirectional microphones. These microphones work together to give you stereo input and better noise-canceling.

You aren’t going to get stunning audio from these microphones, but they get the job done quite well. If you’re particular about the audio on your video conferences, you may want to invest in a dedicated microphone.

Verdict

The Logitech C930e is the perfect webcam if you’re looking for one with high video standards and a few extra features. If you want to save a few bucks but still want high-quality video, the C925e might be the perfect choice for you.

Amazon product

The Logitech C925e and C930e are both great webcams for business conference use. They meet all the modern video conferencing standards and even come with a few nifty features.

Between the two, the C930e has the edge when it comes to video. With its H.264 SVC encoding, 4x digital zoom, and 90-degree field view. Because of its slightly higher price tag, Logitech also had some freedom to include an external privacy shutter that is quite useful.

The C925e on the other hand is the newer webcam, which shows in its design. It is also more affordable and comes very close to the video standards of the C930e.
