Design

They’re the same model so they look the same.

Both the Logitech C922 and C922x sport a similar design as the iconic Logitech C920, although with a few subtle changes. They are rectangular in shape with a dimension of 1.73″ x 3.74″ x 2.80″ and they both weigh 5.71 oz.

The stereo microphones are located on both sides of the lens and they both come in an all-black casing with a white trim. Both webcams come with a 5 ft. cord that’s not detachable.

Mounting on top of your monitor or your laptop is easy with their rear-mounted arm. You can also place them on a tripod if you wish. The Logitech C922 comes with its own tripod while the C922x does not come with any. The Logitech C922x is an Amazon-exclusive model.

Image Quality

The C922 and C922x are great even in low light conditions.

Both webcams are capable of 1080p at 30fps and 720p at 60fps. They both deliver good quality video and audio and their image quality is crisp, even in low-light settings. This is actually one of the upgrades featured in the C922 over the C920, better performance in low light settings.

Video quality is also good. Even when the lights are turned off and your monitor’s backlight is your only source of light, both webcams are still capable of producing quality videos. What’s more impressive is that they don’t sacrifice frame rate. They are both capable of outputting 30 frames per second. With optimal lighting, you can expect an even better image/video quality.

The microphones work as intended. They are not the best in the world but they are clear and will do a fine job in delivering quality audio.

Streaming and Other Features

720p at 60fps is perfect for streamers.

Both the Logitech C922 and C922x are great webcams for streaming. They both come with XSplit licenses – three months for the C922 and six for the C922x. Both of them also work with ChromaCam, a software solution for background removal, making them perfect for streaming on a budget or if you don’t have the space for a physical green screen.

Another great feature that exclusively targets streamers is the ability to broadcast at 720p at 60fps. This ensures that your stream will look great and your viewers will have a good experience. If you are a beginner and you think that 720p seems too low of a resolution, it’s not an issue. It’s more than enough since you will only be showing yourself in a small corner of the screen anyway.

Going back to the background removal feature, it’s very easy to use. If you are using either OBS or XSplit, adding ChromaCam is very easy and you don’t have to be a technical wiz to be able to do so. The green screen effect is a bit tricky but it works fine once you find the right settings. It’s not the best but it will do just fine.

Choosing between the Logitech C922 and the Logitech C922x will come down to the configuration that you want.
