Are The C920 and C920 Pro Different?

The Logitech C920 and C920 Pro are the same webcam

The short answer is no. The Logitech C920 and C920 Pro are the exact same webcam with no difference even in the packaging. Logitech’s most popular webcam is commonly listed on online marketplaces and electronics shops as the C920 HD Pro Webcam, the HD Pro Webcam C920, C920 HD Webcam, C920 Pro HD Webcam, C920 Pro, and simply the C920. This is the reason many people are led to believe that the Logitech C920 and C920 Pro are two different webcams when in fact, they are the same webcam just labeled slightly differently.

The Logitech C920 HD Pro webcam comes in an all-black body

The Logitech C920 HD Pro webcam measures 3.7-inches at its widest and only 1.14-inches tall. A Full HD 1080p lens sits dead center of the body flanked by LED indicator lights and microphone grilles on both sides. A piece of glass covers a large portion of the front of the webcam which serves to protect the camera lens and improves the overall aesthetics of the C920. The design of the Logitech C920 is quite similar to that of the popular C930e. The only difference being that the C920 comes in all-black with only a couple of branding text in front and blue LED indicator lights.

The webcam is attached to a plastic mounting arm that can be clipped onto laptops and most computer monitors. The mounting arm is adjustable to help you find the perfect camera angle. You can also attach the mounting arm to any standard camera tripod using the 1/4 screw mount at the bottom of the arm.

The C920 comes packed with competitive video specs

The Logitech C920 delivers 1080p video at 30 frames per second. That is more than enough video power for Skype calls, live streaming, and even video recording. The image quality on the C920 is very crisp thanks to its five-element full HD glass lens. The C920 is also UVC-compatible. This eliminates the need for you to install drivers on your computer to get your C920 to work.

Furthermore, the C920 is equipped with an advanced autofocus system that is both quick and accurate and a built-in light correction processor called the Logitech RightLight 2 that adjusts brightness and contrast according to your lighting condition. This ensures that you’ll get the best image every time.

The Logitech C920 can capture stereo sound with its two omnidirectional microphones

When it comes to audio, the C920 doesn’t disappoint. It is equipped with a stereo microphone set up with two omnidirectional microphones located on either side of the webcam. The stereo input provides a very rich and natural sound complete with noise-cancelation.

For business conferences and video calling family and friends over Skype, the microphone system on the Logitech C920 does an excellent job. If, however, you’re thinking about doing podcasts or if you are very particular about audio, you will be better off getting a dedicated microphone like a condenser mic for better audio quality.
