Kyocera Hydro Icon (C6730) Review & Specs

Kyocera Hydro Icon is a mid level Android cellphone, featuring a 4.5″ multi touch display, a fast 1200 MHz Quad-Core processing unit, and two cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back camera and a 2 megapixels front facing camera.

Whereas this phone is just 5.19 inches long, it manages to contain a 4.5″ display. This phone’s thickness , 0.43 inches, is quite far from current standards, but it still feels in the hand. This phone is only for sale in color black. Kyocera appears to have forgotten about weight optimization in this 5.08 oz cellphone.

Kyocera equipped this cellphone with a nice 4.5″ display, and a resolution of 960 x 540 , providing this phone with a nice graphical experience. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8926 chip, which holds a fast Quad-Core processing unit speeding at 1.2 GHz and a huge 1,5 GB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations generally uses a lot of processor time, so it uses an extra Adreno 305 graphics processing unit running at 450 MHz to help handle those graphic tasks. This cellphone counts with an interesting 8 GB internal memory and a slot for SD memory cards, which allows the user to store hundreds of games and applications without any trouble.

This cellphone features two cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back side camera and a 2 mega-pixels front facing camera. It can also film Full HD 1920×1080 videos at 30 fps. This cellphone also counts with some useful features: flash, auto-focus, HDR mode, fast burst mode and geo tagging.

This cellphone features a medium capacity 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery that can keep this phone running for several hours. Kyocera afirms this cellphone has a talk time of 14 hours and a stand by time of 193 hs.

This cellphone provides WiFi capability (which it can provide to other devices around, acting as a wireless modem), LTE 4G high performance connectivity or 3G connectivity, over EV-DO A technologies. The Kyocera Hydro Icon doesn’t have a sim card, because it doesn’t work with GSM networks.

This phone also features many interesting features like Bluetooth (enables communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories), GPS (Global Positioning System), NFC and Radio, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
