The build quality for both the Janome HD3000 and the Singer 4452 are excellent. The HD3000 has an aluminum body while the 4452 has a heavy duty metal frame. Both of these sewing machines will last a long time, as long as you treat them with a little bit of care. Having said that, the Janome HD3000 does feel a bit more premium.
