While the Bose Sport Earbuds 500 are slimmer than the SoundSport Free, the Jabra Elite Active 75t still look stealthier

There’s not a lot of true wireless earbuds in the market today that are as stealthy and discreet as the Jabra Elite Active 75t. They are also lightweight, well-built, feel premium, and the design of the ear tips ensure a secure seal and comfortable fit.

What we didn’t like with the Bose Sport Earbuds’ predecessor, the SoundSport Free, is how bulky they are and how they stick out of the ear unattractively when worn. Bose tries to address this by making the Sport Earbuds slimmer than the SoundSport Free. However, they are still slightly bigger than the Jabra 75Ts.

The Bose Sport Earbuds’ ear tips follow the same umbrella-shaped design of their predecessor’s. This design allows for a comfortable fit, but also lets more external noise in as the ears are not completely sealed off. Meanwhile, the Jabra Elite Active 75t boast an amazing passive noise cancellation that doesn’t let a lot of background noise in, thanks to their secure seal design.

Jabra’s carrying case is compact, portable, and more pocket-friendly than the Bose SoundSport Free. Thankfully, Bose is designing a much smaller charging case for the upcoming Earbuds 500 as well. From what we’ve seen in the prototype though, their charging case doesn’t have the magnetic lock-in design that the Elite Active 75t have.

Sound Quality

Jabra delivers impressive audio quality in the Elite Active 75t, but the Bose Sport Earbuds don’t disappoint as well

Both Bose and Jabra deliver stunning audio quality, but which one will suit your taste better? If you are after deep, punchy, and rich bass, the Jabra Elite Active 75t will fit the sound profile you like. Jabra’s Sound+ app lets you fully customize the EQ settings though so you can adjust the highs, mids, and lows if you think the default bass setting is too much.

The traditional Bose sound signature of slightly scooped mids and warm bottom ends is what you’ll get with the Bose Sport Earbuds. Those who like better instrument separation, cleaner sound profile, and wider soundstage will like the Bose better than the bass-heavy Jabra Elite Active 75t.

When it comes to voice calls, the Jabra Elite Active 75t outperform the Bose Earbuds 500‘s predecessor, the Bose SoundSport Free. The SoundSport Free only have one microphone on its right earbud while the Elite Active 75t have two in each earbud, totaling to four. This results in excellent call quality where the caller on the other end can hear your voice clearly and with less background noise. Thankfully, Bose has made some improvements in the microphones of the Bose Sport Earbuds.

Set Up and Controls

Pairing is quick and easy with the Jabra Elite Active 75t and the Sound+ app offers great EQ customization

True wireless earbuds these days are a breeze to pair. For the Jabra Elite Active 75t, you can simply open its magnetic lock-in case close to your device and it will prompt you with its quick and easy set-up. To manage tracks, activate your voice assistant, or take calls, you can simply press the multi-function button on the earbuds. This button works responsively and accurately as long as you know the number of presses needed for specific controls.

As for the Bose Sport Earbuds, they feature touch-capacitive controls like the AirPods Pro or the Galaxy Buds. Gone are the clunky buttons found in their predecessors’.

A unique feature of the Elite Active 75ts is its multipoint pairing capability, a feature that the Bose Sport Earbuds lack. This means you can pair up to two devices to your 75ts simultaneously. If someone calls you on your phone while you’re watching a video on your laptop or tablet, you can easily switch to your phone and use your wireless earbuds for the call.

The Jabra Elite Active 75t have great battery life and better IP57 rating

Both the Jabra Elite Active 75t and the Bose Sport Earbuds are designed with the active users in mind. The 75ts have an impressive IP57 rating, which means they are waterproof and sweatproof. While they are not recommended for doing aquatic sports, you can wear them for running or training under the rain without problems. They are dustproof as well.

While many were expecting a better IP rating than the SoundSport Free’s IPX4, fans may be disappointed that the Bose Sport Earbuds have the same IP rating. This means they can withstand sweat, moisture, or washing them in the sink. Just like the Elite Active 75t though, they should not be submerged underwater or used for aquatic sports.

When it comes to battery life, the Jabra Elite Active 75t have some of the best in the market today. A full charge can give you up to 7.5 hours of usage while their tiny charging case can add up to 20.5 more. A quick 15-minute charge of your 75ts will give you an hour more of playtime. The Bose Sport Earbuds, have a decent total battery life of 15 hours, five for the earbuds and an additional 10 hours more from the case.

Verdict

The Jabra Elite Active 75t truly wireless earbuds are a worthwhile purchase

If you’re on the hunt for a great pair of true wireless earbuds for your workouts and training, it’s hard to go wrong with the Jabra Elite Active 75t. For a lower cost than other premium earbuds like the AirPods Pro, Powerbeats Pro, or Sony WF-1000XM3, you can enjoy great audio quality and features. They are well-built, feel premium, look discreet, have customizable EQ settings, excellent call quality, multi-point connectivity, great passive noise-cancellation, and a high IP rating.
