Huawei Ascend (Y511) Review & Specs

Huawei Ascend Y511 is a little outdated phone, which features a powerful Dual-Core CPU clocking at 1.3 GHz, a 4.5″ multi touch screen, and 2 cameras, a 3 megapixels back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera. Let’s take a better view of what this device has to offer.

This phone is offerred in two different color options, black and white. This cellphone is very slim and looks really nice, whereas it’s not as slim as many other cellphones in the market, with a thickness of 0.41 inches. Huawei appears to have forgotten about weight optimization in this 5.29 ounces phone.

The Huawei Ascend Y511 ships with a MediaTek MT6572 chip, packing a great performance Dual-Core processing unit clocking at 1300 megahertz with 512 MB of RAM. Graphic intensive apps generally eats a lot of processing power, so this phone counts with an extra ARM Mali-400 GPU running at 500 MHz to help the processor with those tasks.

The Huawei Ascend Y511 has two cameras, a 3 mega-pixels back side camera and a 0.3 megapixels front camera. It also shoots HD 1280×720 videos.

Huawei packed this device with a very good 4.5-inches screen, and a resolution of 854 x 480 , which makes all pictures and movies look beautiful.

The Huawei Ascend Y511 features a medium capacity 1730 mAh removable battery providing the Huawei Ascend Y511 with a good battery life. According to Huawei, this device has a reported 5.2 hs talk time and a 310 hours stand by time.

This cellphone features WiFi connectivity (although it can’t share it with other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G (HSPA+) connection type, that is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks or the fastest 3G connectivity, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Huawei Ascend Y511 comes with 2 SIM cards to be able to to use two different phone numbers or carriers in the same cellphone.

This cellphone also features some interesting features like Bluetooth (4.0), GPS (Global Positioning System) and NFC (Near Field Communication), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
