Spoiler alert, they offer the same functions. Both coffee makers come with a 2-hour shutoff function. They will automatically shut down 2 hours after you start brewing. No more leaving the house and wondering if you’ve turned them off.

Both coffee makers also come with a Pause ‘N Serve function. With this feature, you can remove the carafe to pour a cup of coffee even though the brew cycle is not yet finished. Both coffee makers will automatically stop dripping coffee if the carafe is removed, ensuring that there are no drips for you to clean up. When returned, the brewing cycle will resume. It is advised that you return the carafe to the hot plate within 20 seconds so that the filter basket will not overflow.

Both coffee makers are also programmable to up to 24 hours. You’ll be able to wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee every morning with either coffee makers. Programming is a bit different on both models due to their slightly different button configurations but it is still very easy.

Ease of Use and Maintenance

The Hamilton Beach 49465R (left) has one extra button.

Even though they have different button layouts, they control almost the same. The lack of an “Auto” button on the Hamilton Beach 49467 is not an issue at all. The “Auto” button on the Hamilton Beach 49465R is used after programming the coffee maker to brew coffee in advance. Press it once and the light will turn green, indicating that it is on. On the Hamilton Beach 49467, the “Prog” button doubles as the “Auto” button. You press it once after programming and the light will also turn green.

Both coffee makers are very easy to clean. The exterior on both models can be easily cleaned by wiping them down. As for the brew baskets and the carafes, they are dishwasher safe, so no manual washing necessary. The hot plates are non-stick and they are residue resistant, so cleaning them is easy as well. Basically, you won’t have any trouble when it comes to cleaning both coffee makers.
