Everything is kept to the bare minimum, with an aluminum alloy frame that doesn’t waste material for fancy flourishes. The handlebar and deck are purely functional and have excellent build quality despite the relatively budget price point of the GXL line.

In either case, the pneumatic tires are a nice substitute to actual suspension, adding enough bounce for a more comfortable ride.
Both GOTRAX GXL electric scooters are powered by a 250W brushless DC motor that’s typically the most powerful for this price range. To get them running, you’ll need to kick it to around 2 mph since they don’t have a zero-start feature. You can get to the top speed of 15.5 mph in about 10 seconds, which is enough for a quick commute but may feel slow if you’re used to faster scooters and bikes.
Their dual front regenerative and rear disc brake systems will pull you to a stop in roughly 5 meters if you were going on near full speed. It’s recommended that you get used to this braking power to ensure a safe ride. Note that the gearing system that seems to be present in both scooters isn’t really actual gearing. It’s more of a limiter on electric power, so gear 1 is notably slower than going up to 2.
