In terms of looks, the Coway Airmega 250S and the Blueair Blue 3210 couldn’t be more different. The Airmega 250S has a very utilitarian, kind of bulky design that deviates from the sleek and modern models that saturate the market. Behind its front removable grille are two layers of filters, the first one made of fine mesh to trap dander, hair, and large dust particles, while the second is a MAX2 Green True HEPA carbon-activated filter which takes care of bacteria, harmful gases, and fine dust particles.

As for the Blue 3210, it sports a simple cylindrical silhouette that doesn’t attract too much attention. It’s offered in a bunch of different hues, including grey, pink, green, and blue, so you should be able to find one that suits the color palette in your home. On the bottom half, you’ll find the three-part filtration system. The first layer is a fabric pre-filter that protects the main filter and captures large particles. Underneath that is the particle and carbon filter which gets rid of odors around the house. Lastly, there’s the main particle filter which is responsible for removing airborne particles.

Performance

The Coway Airmega 250S beats the Blueair Blue 3210 when it comes to coverage and filtering power.

When it comes to coverage and performance, the Coway Airmega 250S trumps the Blueair Blue 3210 by a mile. It’s able to work efficiently and effectively in large rooms up to 86 square meters, beating direct rivals like Sharp and Aura Air. If you live in a small space, it might even be enough to cover the entire area. As for filtering power, it’s able to capture 99.999% of the particles in the air, even those that are 0.01 microns small. And thanks to its real-time air quality monitor, it’s able to adjust its purification level throughout the day and save energy when it can.

As for the Blueair Blue 3210, it’s designed for small rooms of up to 17 square meters only which is drastically smaller than the Coway Airmega 250S’ coverage. If you live in a big home, you’re probably going to have to station several of them in different areas. As for its filtering system, it’s on the same level as the Coway Airmega 250S, able to get rid of 99.97% 0.1 Β΅m particles in the air. When it comes to filtering rate, it cleans the air around five times per hour or every 12 minutes.

While the Coway Airmeaga 250S doesn’t have much style points, it definitely wins against the Blueair Blue 3210 in terms of performance.

The Coway Airmega 250S has smart features while the Blueair Blue 3210 is more basic.

If you live in a smart home, the Coway Airmega 250S will fit right in with the rest of your smart appliances. Equipped with Wi-Fi, you can connect it to the IoCare App where you can access a lot of helpful metrics such as PM 2.5 and PM 10 levels, the quality of the air outside, as well as the life cycle of your filter. You can also turn the air purifier on and off, switch modes, activate the timer, customize schedules, and switch on the LEDs all via the app. The Airmega 250S has voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant as well so you can still control it even when your hands are full.

As for the Blueair Blue 3210, it’s a lot more old school and basic. It’s not equipped with Wi-Fi, it doesn’t have voice control, and it isn’t compatible with an app either. The only way to control it is through its one and only button found up top. And the only way to monitor it is through its LED display which changes colors to indicate whether the air is good, moderate, or polluted.

Verdict

The Coway Airmega 250S wins for its impressive coverage and smart features.

There’s no doubt that both the Coway Airmega 250S and the Blueair Blue 3210 are both effective air purifiers that can significantly improve the quality of air at home.

However, we’re naming the Coway Airmega 250S as the winner of this comparison because it has several advantages over its competitor. For starters, it has a much larger coverage area, saving you the need to buy several units for your living space. It’s also a smart model which means you get access to plenty of helpful features such as Wi-Fi connection, hands-free control, and app compatibility.

That said, the Blueair Blue 3210 isn’t a bad option at all. It’s efficient enough if you put in a small space and it’s affordable too. In addition, it’s stylish and discreet so it should be able to blend right in with your home.
