Design

The Bissell CrossWave All-In-One and Pet Pro Multi-Surface cleaners sport the same design and form, differing only in their color finish.

Vacuum cleaners are probably the last piece of appliance you’d be concerned about aesthetics. But with the Bissell CrossWave lineup, you’re getting an attractive cleaner anyway. Both the All-In-One and the Pet Pro sport a futuristic look, with angles merging into rounded edges marked by lines and grills. They also boast a judicious use of colors. On the Bissell CrossWave All-In-One, you get a vibrant lime green finish. Meanwhile, the Pet Pro features a cool purple that contrasts nicely with the black and silver finish of the vacuum.

Although these cleaners look rugged, they’re fairly lightweight appliances. Both clock in at just a little over 11 pounds. The vacuum cleaners aren’t too bulky either, so storage shouldn’t be a problem. Despite being tall devices, handling these Bissell CrossWave cleaners is easy. After all, they come with large, ergonomic handles for easy grip. These handles also feature the SmartClean fingertip controls on the top side and a solution spray trigger underneath.

Bissell shares that the All-In-One and the Pet Pro CrossWave are fitted with two independent tanks, which make up the bulk of these vacuums’ bodies. A clean water tank on top dispenses fresh water and solution, while the lower compartment stores all the dirt. Since these are upright vacuum cleaners, however, they don’t come with removable attachments. The base or foot of both models is firmly in place, although you can change the brush rolls. They also feature a swivel component so you can lay down the vacuum flat when reaching under furniture.

Power and Performance

Bissell’s CrossWave All-In-One and Pet Pro are comparable in terms of power and cleaning performance.

The Bissell CrossWave and Pet Pro are both corded electric models. This means you don’t have to worry about rushing your cleaning before the battery runs out. Plus, you get a cord that’s 25 feet long, so moving around isn’t a hassle. Interestingly, the All-In-One and Pet Pro don’t differ in terms of power. On both devices, you’re getting a 4.4 amps motor for both vacuuming and wet-cleaning functions.

According to Bissell, both CrossWave models have a cleaning path about a foot wide that’s good for cleaning large areas at once. You also get a 14.5 oz. dirt cup capacity, along with a 28 oz. clean tank. Both vacuum cleaners are designed to work across multiple surfaces, including sealed hard and wood floors as well as area rugs. Picking up debris both small and large is fairly easy. But when it comes to carpeted areas, the performance isn’t as consistent.

As mentioned in the design, the CrossWave All-In-One and Pet Pro don’t come with attachments. It shouldn’t be an issue for large open swaths of the floor. If you’re working on corners and edges, however, you might have to use a stick vacuum cleaner. Bissell’s wet and dry vacs don’t have HEPA filters, too, so they are not rated to clear allergens in your home.

Brushes and Formulas

Apart from their colors, where the Bissell CrossWave All-In-One and Pet Pro differ is in their default brushes. On the All-In-One, you’ll find the Multi-Surface brush roll. It’s a dual-action component designed to mop and pick up dirt and debris. It’s also useful for sealed hard floors and area rugs. Meanwhile, the Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro is equipped with a multi-surface tangle-free brush roll. As its name implies, it’s a brush made for picking up pet hair with ease.

But these Bissell vacuum cleaners are also compatible with specialty brushes. For rugs, you can get the unique-looking CrossWave Area Rug brush roll. Its scrubby bristles are designed to loosen tough messes on your carpet or rug for easier vacuuming. There’s also the Gentle Clean brush roll. With its soft-touch microfiber bristles, it’s the best component to use on wood floors.

To mop surfaces, both Bissell CrossWave vacuums have brushes that work with specific cleaning formulas. The Multi-Surface brush, for instance, comes with a similarly named formula that tackles messes like grim and mud. On the other hand, the Wood Formula uses a gentle, lemon-scented formulation that also restores your wood floors’ natural shine. Area rugs and pet-friendly formulas are also available. The former helps agitate debris on rugs while the latter safely removes pet odors as you clean.

Other Features

Unlike the regular CrossWave, the CrossWave Pet Pro features a strainer in the dirty water tank.

While the Bissell CrossWave All-In-One works with the tangle-free pet brush roll, getting the Pet Pro is still a better option. The latter comes with a strainer in its dirty water tank that keeps pet hair from clogging your vacuum. Other than that, most of the features between these two cleaners will be the same.

For easy storage, the All-In-One and Pet Pro both feature clips that serve as a cord for your wires. As mentioned in the design, smart buttons on the handle make it easy to switch between hard floors and area rugs.
