A1600 Apple iPad mini 3 (A1600) Review & Specs

Apple iPad mini 3 is an impressive device released back in the year 2014, counting with a 7.9″ touch-screen, a very powerful 1.3 GHz Dual-Core 64 bits processing unit, and 2 cameras, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 1.2 mega-pixels front camera.

Regarding its body design materials, this device is mainly built with Aluminium, giving it a high quality feel and better resistance. The Apple iPad mini 3 is available in 2 color options, gray and gold. Apple appears to have forgotten about weight optimization in this 12.03 ounces tablet. This tablet is very thin and comfortable, with a thickness of just 0.3″. This tablet is just 7.87 inches long and 5.3 inches wide, but it is still able to fit a a 7.9 inches screen.

Apple decided to build this tablet with a Apple A7 chip, packing a great 1.3 gigahertz Dual-Core 64-bit processing unit with only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little disappointing comparing with this tablet’s powerful CPU. Graphic rendering usually eats a lot of CPU processing time, so this tablet counts with an additional PowerVR G6430 GPU speeding at 600 megahertz to take some work out of the CPU. The iPad mini 3 counts with a quite large 16 GB internal memory and although it doesn’t count with an external SD slot, it is enough to store hundreds of apps, but it may not be suitable if you are fan of the largest games currently available or taking tons of pictures and videos.

Apple packed this tablet with an awesome 7.9″ screen, and a resolution of 1536 x 2048 , which makes everything look absolutely great. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

This tablet has two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back camera and a 1.2 megapixels front-facing camera. This tablet also films Full HD 1920×1080 videos at 30 frames per second. This camera also counts with lots of cool characteristics like digital image stabilization, auto-focus, face detection shooting, time lapse video, HDR mode and geo tagging.

This tablet uses a 6350 mAh incredible non-removable battery that can keep this tablet running for several hours and even reach the end of the day without charging it. An issue to take into account is that the iPad mini 3’s battery is non-removable so you can’t buy a new battery when it starts to lose capacity, though with such a huge battery size you will probably replace this tablet before it becomes a real problem.

The iPad mini 3 provides wi-fi connectivity (which can be shared with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) high performance connectivity or 3G fast data connection, using HSPA, UMTS, EV-DO A, EV-DO B and EDGE technologies. The iPad mini 3 uses a Nano SIM card for GSM carriers and it works with both GSM and CDMA.

The iPad mini 3 also features many interesting features like Bluetooth (4.0), Fingerprint Identification, GPS Localization and NFC (Near Field Communication), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This tablet is a great option for you no matter if you need a device for work, you love taking photographs, want a tablet to play games or need a device to mostly use social networks. The iPad mini 3 includes USB Power Adapter and Lightning to USB Cable.
