Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon Review & Specs

Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon is a decent quality device, counting with a fast Quad-Core CPU speeding at 1200 megahertz, a pretty large 5-inches multi-touch capacitive screen, and two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back camera and a 0.3 megapixels front side camera. Great! That’s it? Not at all, it’s just the starting point.

Alcatel sells the Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon with a powerful 1200 MHz Quad-Core processing unit and 1 GB of RAM memory. The Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon comes with a moderate 4 GB internal memory, which is adequate for the average user knowing that it also has a slot for an external memory card .

This cellphone is just 0.39″ thick, taking it to the thinnest cellphone’s category. This cellphone is quite a compact cellphone, taking into consideration it has a 5″ display and it has just 5.55 inches long and 2.84 inches wide. This cellphone is much lighter than what you would expect from a cellphone like this.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon has a nice 5-inches screen with a 960 x 540 resolution, making everything look beautiful. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

This phone features two cameras, a 5 MP back side camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front camera. This phone can also shoot videos in HD 1280×720 at 30 fps. To complete the camera, it also has a few useful features: flash, auto-focus, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

This cellphone features Wi-Fi connectivity (and it can be shared with other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) internet connection, that is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks or fast 3G connectivity, over HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a Micro SIM card for GSM networks.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon uses a 2000 mAh medium sized replaceable battery, which isn’t very much for a cellphone like this. Alcatel afirms this cellphone has a 13 hs talk time and a 800 hs stand by time.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon also comes with some interesting features like Bluetooth (enables communication with other cellphones and accessories), GPS and NFC, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
