Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (8″) Tablet Review & Specs

Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (8″) is a decent Android tablet, with a pretty large 8″ multi touch screen, a fast Dual-Core CPU running at 1300 megahertz, a 2 mega-pixels back camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front camera.

This tablet comes with a MediaTek MT8312 chip, holding a great performance Dual-Core CPU clocking at 1300 megahertz and 1 GB RAM memory. Graphic intensive apps usually eats lots of processor cycles, so it also has an extra 500 MHz ARM Mali-400 graphic processing unit to help with that calculations. The Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (8″) has a 4 GB internal storage memory, a common amount that should be adequate for most users having that this tablet also has an SD card slot to store songs, pictures and videos.

It appears that Alcatel didn’t care about the weight in this 11.82 ounces tablet. The Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (8″) has a gorgeous design, with a thickness of just 0.36″. This device is quite a compact tablet, considering it features a 8″ display and it’s only 8.23 inches long and 4.88 inches wide.

This tablet has a good 800 x 1280 8-inches screen, which makes all photos and movies look quite vivid. This screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This tablet is equipped with two cameras, a 2 mega-pixels back side camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front camera.

The Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (8″) has a high capacity 3240 mAh battery that can keep it running for several hours, although you may need to charge it after some heavy use.

This tablet has WiFi capability (although it can’t provide it to other devices around, acting as a hotspot) or the fastest 3G data connection, supported by HSPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This tablet doesn’t use a sim card, because it doesn’t work with GSM connections.

The Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (8″) also features many interesting features like Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories), GPS, Infrared Port and Near Field Communication (NFC), and some sensors likeLight Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
