Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch is a mid level tablet launched a couple years ago, in 2013, coming with a pretty big 8" multi touch capacitive screen, an extremely powerful 1500 megahertz Dual-Core processing unit, and two cameras, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 1.3 MP front side camera. But let's get into some more detail.
Samsung equipped this tablet with a Samsung Exynos 4 Dual system chip, packing a very powerful 1.5 GHz Dual-Core CPU with a huge 1,5 GB RAM. Graphic rendering usually consume lots of CPU time, so it also has an extra 266 megahertz ARM Mali-400 MP4 graphics processing unit to take some work out of the CPU. An amazing aspect of the Tab 3 8-inch is its big 32 GB internal storage memory and an SD memory card expansion slot, which allows the user to store lots of applications, games, pictures and videos without thinking about filling the tablet.
This tablet is just 8.26" long and 4.87 inches wide, but it's still able to fit a a 8 inches display. The Tab 3 8-inch has an inspired design, with a thickness of just 0.29". The Tab 3 8-inch feels much lighter than what you would expect from a tablet this size.
This device has two cameras, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front facing camera. It can also shoot 1280x720 HD videos at 30 frames per second. In addition, the camera features geo tagging and auto-focus.
This tablet includes a good level 8-inches display with a 800 x 1280 resolution, providing this tablet with a regular graphic quality. This display uses Super Clear LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.
This tablet comes with a large 4450 mAh non-replaceable battery that can keep it running for many hours and even reach the end of the day without charging it at all. An issue to take into consideration is that the Tab 3 8-inch's battery isn't removable so you can't buy a new battery when it starts to have trouble holding its charge, whereas with such a great capacity you will probably discard this tablet before that happens.
This device counts with wifi connection (but it can't be shared with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G (LTE) high speed connectivity and also HSPA+ connectivity, which is a slower 4G variation or the fastest 3G connectivity, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This tablet works with a SIM card for GSM carriers.
The Tab 3 8-inch also features some interesting features like Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth tablets, computers and accessories), GPS (Global Positioning System) and Near Field Communication (NFC), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
Samsung sells this tablet for 305 dollars, which is quite the same as other same level devices. No matter if you need a tablet to mostly use social networks, want a tablet for work or are looking for a tablet to play lots of games, you will probably love this tablet.
