Apple iPad Air is a fascinating tablet released a few years ago, equipped with an extremely fast 1400 MHz Dual-Core 64 bits processing unit, a 9.7-inches display, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 1.2 mega-pixels front-facing camera.
Apple sells the iPad Air with a Apple A7 chip, which holds an exceptional 64-bits Dual-Core CPU ticking at 1.4 GHz with only 1 GB RAM which is a little bit disappointing for such a powerful tablet. Graphic calculations often uses a lot of processor cycles, so it uses a PowerVR G6430 graphics processing unit clocking at 600 megahertz to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks. A nice point of the Apple iPad Air is its quite big 16 GB internal memory and even though it doesn't have an SD memory slot, it is enough to install hundreds of apps and games, although it probably wouldn't be suitable if you are fan of the largest games currently available.
Talking about its materials, this device is made of Aluminium, giving this tablet a top level finish and high resistance. This device is for sale in 3 color options, black, gray and white. Apple has made a very nice design job making this device weight only 16.86 oz. The iPad Air is very slim and stilized, being just 0.3" thick. The iPad Air is just 9.45 inches long and 6.67 inches wide, but it's able to fit a a 9.7 inches display.
This tablet has a good level 1536 x 2048 9.7" screen, which makes all photos and movies look very good. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.
This tablet counts with WiFi connectivity (and it can provide it to other devices as a mobile hotspot), 4G LTE high performance connectivity or 3G fast connectivity, using HSPA, UMTS, EV-DO A, EV-DO B and EDGE technologies. This device works with a Nano SIM card for GSM networks and it works with both GSM and CDMA.
This device has two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 1.2 mega-pixels front side camera. It can also shoot videos in Full HD 1920x1080 at 30 fps. This camera also features a lot of interesting characteristics: digital image stabilization, auto-focus, HDR mode, face detection shooting, time lapse video and geo tagging.
The iPad Air has a 8820 mAh big capacity Li-Polymer non-replaceable battery that can keep it running for several hours without charging it. An issue to take into account is that this tablet's battery isn't removable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to last shorter, while with this big battery you will probably buy a new tablet before that becomes a real problem.
This device also includes some interesting features like Bluetooth (4.0), GPS Navigation and NFC (Near Field Communication), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.
This tablet is priced $ 385, which is quite close to other similar devices. This tablet is definitely a great choice for you if you are looking for a tablet for work, will use it for gaming, want a social device or you love taking pictures. If you buy the Apple iPad Air you also get Lightning to USB Cable and USB Power Adapter.
