Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is a little outdated Android phone released back in 2011, with a quite powerful processor speeding at 1000 MHz, a 5 MP back facing camera and a small 3-inches display. But let's get into some more detail.
This cellphone is quite thick for nowadays standards, being as thick as 0.65 inches. Apparently Sony didn't care about the weight at all, releasing a 3.91 oz heavyweight product.
Sony designed this phone with a interesting 3 inches screen, and a 480 x 320 resolution, providing this device with a nice graphical experience. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.
Sony decided to sell this phone with a good 1000 megahertz processor, included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8255 system chip with 512 MB RAM memory. Collaborating with graphic intensive applications, this cellphone also has an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit clocking at 245 megahertz. This cellphone comes with a 327,68 MB internal storage memory, a mediocre amount that might be enough for some basic users having that it also has an SD extension slot to store songs, photos and videos and even some games and apps that allow external memory installation.
This cellphone only features a 5 megapixels back facing camera. It can also shoot HD 1280x720 videos. Additionally, the camera has a lot of valuable features: auto-focus, flash, face detection shooting, digital image stabilization, geo tagging and smile detection shooting.
This phone offers wifi connection (and it can provide it to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) or 3G fast internet connection, using HSPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card for GSM services.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active also includes some interesting features like Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth devices and accessories), GPS (Global Positioning System) and NFC, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer and Compass.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active comes with a 1200 mAh small sized Li-Ion removable battery, and while it may seem very low, this phone is very optimized so it has a surprisingly long battery duration. Sony informs a talk time of 4.9 hours and a stand by time of 351 hs for this cellphone.
This phone is priced around 290 dollars, which is very expensive for a phone this level. Sony packs the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active with microUSB cable for charging Synchronisation and file transfer, Wrist strap, Exchangeable cover, Charger, Sport stereo headset, 2GB microSD memory card, Arm case and user documentation.
