LG Fathom Review

(VS750) Score: 5.12/10
VERIZON WIRELESS CELL PHONE LG FATHOM VS750 SMART PHONE NO CONTRACT REQUIRED IN ORIGINAL BOX WORKS ON VERIZON WIRELESS OR PAGE PLUS NETWORK ONLY COLOR BLUE

LG Fathom is a not very powerful Windows Mobile Professional phone released some years ago, in 2010, including a medium 3.2 inches resistive display, a quite powerful processing unit clocking at 1000 MHz and a 3.2 megapixels back side camera.

This cellphone ships with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 QSD8650 chip, backed up by a good CPU speeding at 1 gigahertz with only 256 MB RAM. Graphic intensive apps often eats lots of CPU time, so it has an Adreno 200 GPU running at 128 megahertz to improve overall performance.

LG didn't put much effort to reduce weight in this 5.36 ounces cellphone, way heavier than other similar phones. The LG Fathom is a bit thick for today's standards, being as thick as 0.65 inches. The LG Fathom isn't a very compact device, considering it is 4.53 inches long, but it only contains a 3.2 inches screen.

This cellphone only features a 3.2 megapixels back side camera. It is also able to capture videos in VGA 640x480 at 20 fps.

LG equipped this phone with a good looking 3.2 inches display, and a resolution of 800 x 480 , which makes all images and videos look vivid. Its display uses TFT resistive technology, but it can't detect multi touch gestures.

This cellphone counts with wi-fi connectivity (although it can't be shared with other devices acting as a hotspot) or the fastest 3G connection type, supported by HSDPA, UMTS, EV-DO A and EDGE technologies. The LG Fathom works with a SIM card to connect to GSM networks and it can connect to both GSM and CDMA carriers.

The LG Fathom comes with a good 1500 mAh Li-Polymer battery providing this device with a great battery duration. According to LG, this device has an estimated stand by time of 475 hours and a talk time of 7 hs.

The LG Fathom also comes with some interesting features like Bluetooth (2.1, EDR), GPS (Global Positioning System) and NFC, and some sensors likeLight Sensor and Proximity Sensor.

LG sells this phone for 200 dollars, which is very expensive for comparing with similar phones. This phone is sold with Global Support Kit, Wall/USB Charger, Stylus, Quick Reference Guide, International Plug Adapters (Europe, Australia, Product Safety & Warranty Guide, SIM Card (pre-installed), RF Brochure, VZAccess Manager CD (including User Guide) and and UK).
