Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is a mid level Android device launched a couple of years ago, in 2013, including a big 5 inches multi touch screen, a powerful Quad-Core CPU speeding at 1500 megahertz, and 2 cameras, a 13.1 MP back side camera and a 2 mega-pixels front side camera. That's all? No, it's only the shortest summary in history.
Alcatel sells this phone with a great performance 1.5 GHz Quad-Core CPU, bundled in a MediaTek MT6589+ system chip and a great 2 GB RAM. Graphic calculations usually uses lots of processor cycles, so the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X counts with an additional 384 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU to take some work out of the CPU. A good advantage of this cellphone is its quite big 16 GB internal storage and an SD memory slot, which allows the user to install hundreds of games and applications without worrying about space.
Although this phone just has 5.53" long, it is still able to fit a a 5 inches screen. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is thin and comfortable, with a thickness of just 0.27". Alcatel made a really good design job making this cellphone as lightweight as 4.23 oz. Alcatel offers this cellphone in yellow and red.
This cellphone is equipped with two cameras, a 13.1 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 MP front camera. This phone also captures 1920x1080 Full HD videos. To complete the camera, it also counts with auto-focus and flash.
This phone is equipped with an astonishing 5" display with a 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution, making everything look beautiful and brightful. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.
This cellphone features a mid capacity 2000 mAh Li-Ion non-replaceable battery providing this cellphone with a not very long battery duration. Alcatel informs a 20 hs talk time and a 320 hours stand by time for this cellphone. An issue to evaluate is that this device's battery is not removable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins losing capacity, though with its 2000 mAh you will probably replace this phone before that happens.
This device includes Wi-Fi connection (although it can't be provided to other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot), 4G HSPA+ internet connection, that is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE networks or fast 3G internet connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This phone supports dual sim cards so it can to work with two different carriers or phone numbers.
This cellphone also includes some interesting features like Bluetooth, GPS and Near Field Communication (NFC), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
Alcatel offers this cellphone for around $ 165, which is similar to other same level devices. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is the right one no matter if you want a phone to mainly use social networks and internet browsing or want a cellphone for gaming.
